Webstore Development, Merchant Services & Hosting

CO-OPERATIONS provides complete services with respect to the Webstore development, merchant services and hosting of Webstores. Using an existing Webstore template customization is both easy and cost effective.

Webstore Template
CO-OPERATIONS has purchased the rights to a template driven Webstore with many powerful features. Utilizing this template, the available colors, logos and overall look and feel can be customized to be similar to a customers' home web page.

Merchant Services
Each Webstore is integrated with our SuperCharge credit card processing software. Once an order has been converted into systems from the webstore our software interfaces with the merchant account to obtain an authorization number for holding the funds. Once the order has shipped, SuperCharge will again interface with the merchant account at the end of day to close the transaction. These funds then flow directly into the bank account of the client.

Merchant accounts can be obtained from a number of sources. Our only requirement is that that account is set up on the Vital (Visanet) network so that it can interface with our software correctly.

Hosting
All stores have the option of being hosted at an out of state facility located on a major Internet backbone in the heart of Silicon Valley. This facility ensures your webstore will run optimally by providing multiple Internet connections, battery backup and emergency generator power, a climate controlled environment, and 24 hour, 365 day monitoring. The most important feature on this network is the fact they have two of every piece of equipment. Their Cisco routers, load balancers and firewalls are configured as redundant pairs. This means if one item was to fail its twin would automatically and seamlessly take over which means there would be no interruption to your webstore.

If another hosting solution has already been selected by the customer to host the webstore there are certain requirements that must be met in for the webstore to function. These requirements are below:

  • PHP
  • MySQL
  • SSLeay (for secured credit card information collection)

Webstore Features

Inventory Integration
Product information on the Webstore is updated hourly with any new product information or inventory levels. The status of the inventory can be displayed as “in stock” or “backordered”.

Product Information
Product information includes: product name, product number, description, a thumbnail image, a larger detailed image, weight, and retail pricing. Separate promotional or wholesale pricing levels can also be maintained by each product as defined by certain criteria maintained in the system. Discount levels can be established which allows preferred pricing to be extended to customers based on the total quantity or value of the order.

Coupons
Coupons can be sent to email addresses for either a specific dollar amount or a percentage discount. Each coupon can be coded to allow its use only once or a multiple of times and each includes an expiration date.

Security
All customer and order payment information is entered using a secure SSL connection. This information is then encrypted and stored in a secure database. Administrator access to the webstore is provided on a separate log in screen. Once an administrator logs in they will have access to a number of different options.

Email Notifications
Automatic email notifications to the customer are triggered by the following events: receipt of an order, the order is placed on backorder, if an order is cancelled, the order is shipped. Our customers can customize the text in each of these email messages. Once the order has been marked as shipped this is the final email notification to the customer. The store also updates the order on the store as completed and provides a tracking number if one is available.

Freight Calculations
Freight calculations are done in real time when the order is placed. We are able to interface directly with carrier information to determine the exact amount of the shipping. The interface also has the ability to add in handling charges for the total calculation of the order. If static shipping prices need to be added to the store this is also an option.

Webstore Uses

Consumer Uses
A store can be developed to display products available for sale to consumers. Typically an icon would be placed on our customer's home page indicating a Webstore. Upon activation, the consumer would then be linked to the Webstore. This linking would be totally transparent to the consumer. Once in the Webstore, the consumer could then proceed to place and pay for the order through the use of a shopping cart.

Internal Uses

Co-Operations has used this same store as a very efficient tool enabling internal sales people within an organization to place orders for product. As well, the store also contains descriptions and PDF files of available literature, promotional items, samples, etc. Since orders of internal items all originate through the store, central management of who ordered what can be efficiently reported upon and managed. Many of our customers assign a cost value to the items being ordered so that the overall cost of these items can be allocated internally to the groups placing the orders. The Webstore will allow several hundred sales people access to the Webstore, while inventory for all items is centrally located and managed by Co-Operations.

Webstore Automated Interface

Co-Operations has programmed customized webstore interfaces to automate order retrieval. These processes are run every hour eliminating the need of human interaction when retrieving online orders. Our automated programs are able to log on to the webstore, navigate to order processing, and then download and convert the orders into our system. Online webstores that we can interface with are Yahoo Stores, Infopia, and our licensed X-Cart stores. Also, depending on file specifications associated with other webstores, we have the ability to program custom interfaces.
